Emma Ella Accurso Olean, NY Ella Ella Accurso, of 1374 Two Mile Road, in the town of Allegany, passed away peacefully Friday, October 9, 2015 at the loving home made with her granddaughter. Born May 27, 1928 in Arcade, she was the daughter of Leopold and Juliana Mickolic Wesley, She and her former husband were married October 13, 1951. He passed away August 29, 1983. Emma attended St Mary of the Angles Parochial School and graduated from Olean High School. She later earned her LPN degree from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a maternity nurse at the former St. Francis Hospital and continued her career at Olean General Hospital as a recovery room nurse, retiring in 1988. Emma was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was active with several charitable and service organizations. Her practical organizational abilities made her a valuable volunteer asset to the Olean General Hospital Retirees Association, the Order of the Amaranth and the Olean Senior League. The St. Vincent DePaul Society held a particular place in her heart and she spent many hours over the years working for this organization so dear to her. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her sister, and they were able to visit not only wonderful places, but also travel to visit family members over the years. She loved to read and create handmade articles for family, friends and to the benefit of charitable fundraisers. She was the historian for the Wesley Family and when family members sought information they would frequently “ask Aunt Emma”. Surviving are 4 children Diane Marie (David) Huntoon of Telford, PA, Mark Steven (Mary) Accurso of Olean, David Michael (Kim) Accurso of Worland, WY and Michael Anthony Accurso of Ft. Lauderdale, FL: 8 grandchildren Sutton, Matthew, Alicia, Ellen, Brittany, Philip, Elizabeth and Isabel: 2 great grandchildren Isaac and Raylan who were the light of her life; 1 sister Rose Dahar of Wellsville; 1 brother Joseph (Anita) Wesley of Allegany and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Valerie Mikolajczyk Accurso in 2001 and 6 siblings Mary Wolf, Anthony Wesley, Leo Wesley, John Wesley, Frank Wesley and Louie Wesley. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd, Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 441 N. Union St. Olean, NY 14760.Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
