Obituary of Larry A. Oeffling

Larry A. Oeffling Ellicottville, NY Larry A. Oeffling, of Ellicottville, passed away Saturday (October 10, 2015) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born February 26, 1959 in Harvard, IL he was a son of Francis Oeffling and Judy Gallas. On July 4, 1998 at Holy Name of Mary Church in Ellicottville he married Louise Stokes who survives. Larry was a graduate of Marian Central School in Woodstock, IL and later of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He had been employed in general sales and was passionate about his career in real estate sales. He obtained his broker's license in 1987 while residing in Florida where he worked for a private brokerage company. Upon moving to Ellicottville he and his wife established Ellicottville Real Estate in 2002. Right up until his death he was active with his broker's license and his customers in the real estate market. One of his most proud accomplishments was he was a self -taught pianist. Music was a lifelong passion, as was all kinds of sports. He was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Ellicottville and the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. Surviving besides his wife are his father Francis (Donna) Oeffling of Exeland, WI; 3 children Meg Johnston of NYC, Elizabeth Johnston of Fredonia and Paul Johnston of Ellicottville; 1 sister Sally Wiggins of Ashland, OR and a nephew Baylor Wiggins. He was predeceased by his mother and a brother Frankie Oeffling. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at Holy Name of Mary Church in Ellicottville at a date and time to be announced.
